Putin hopes for more ties with Romania


Russian President Vladimir Putin told newly appointed foreign ambassadors at a credentials presentation ceremony on Thursday that he hopes for more “substantial and mutually beneficial cooperation with Romania”, Itar-Tass reported. “We are ready for mutual deepening of political, economic and cultural ties,” he said. Putin added Russia appreciated historically close strategic relations with one of the EU leaders, France. Russia “maintained a high-level political dialogue with this country and positive economic, technical and cultural contacts”, Putin said. Russia and Italy were tied with multifaceted strategic partnership and friendship, Russian President further said. Putin added his recent visit to Triest “was very fruitful.” “Together with the Italian authorities, with Prime Minister Letta, we have outlined new promising projects in different fields,” he said and expressed confidence that mutual Years of Tourism would promote further rapprochement between the two peoples.
