Radu Beligan among world’s 100 most powerful entertainment figures


At the end of 2013, the Romanian actor was awarded the title of longest living actor still on the theatrical stage by the Guinness Book of Records.

Radu Beligan was included on the list of the world’s 100 most powerful entertainment figures, alongside Hollywood’s most famous stars, Mediafax informs quoting Business Insider US website. “This Romanian actor, aged 95, was awarded the title of longest living actor still on the theatrical stage by Guinness World Records. He is playing the leading role in ‘The Egoist’ by Jean Anouilh”, the article published by Business Insider says.
Born on Dec. 14, 1918, Radu Beligan has a prodigious activity in theatres, films, television and radio. He played famous roles in masterpieces of the Romanian and universal dramaturgy. He was elected as honorary member of the Romanian Academy in 2004, as recognition of his artistic career. Radu Beligan celebrated his 95th anniversary on December 14, 2013 on the stage of the Metropolis Theatre of Bucharest, where he played in ‘The Cello Lesson’ directed by Felix Alexa, getting rapturous applause from the audience, as well as from friends, family members and colleagues.
