The switch to standard time will occur in Romania on the night of October 28 to October 29 (Saturday to Sunday), when clocks will be turned backward so that 4 a.m. will become 3 a.m. in the morning of October 29. Thus, Sunday, October 29, will be the longest day of the year, set to have 25 hours.

The mechanism that sees clocks being turned forward and backward, in spring and autumn, is used in more than 100 countries worldwide. Romania joined the daylight saving time system in 1932.
