Romanian art and culture in Portugal
Photography exhibitions, film screenings, craft workshop, as well as Romanian traditional folk dances are among the manifestations promoting Romanian culture and traditions in Portugal, March 3-24, part of the multicultural event Saberes e Sabores de outras Gentes, held in cooperation with various embassies and foreign cultural institutes in Portugal, and also with support from local immigrant communities and the High Commissariat for Immigration and Intercultural Dialogue of the Romanian Orthodox Church parish in Setubal. During March 3-10, the Romanian Cultural Institute will join this initiative with a string of events including the opening of the “A Romenia atraves da tua camara” (Sunday, 5.00 pm), the screening of “On The Road” a 1997 documentary film by Dumitru Budrala (March 9, 9.30 pm), traditional music and dances performed by the “Martisorul” folkloric ensemble of Cluj-Napoca and the “Doina” Group of the Association of Romanians and Moldovans in Algrave (March 9), as well as a religious service officiated by the Romanian Orthodox Parish in Setubal, and a Romanian cuisine workshop including food tasting (March 10).
