Romanian-French dialogue on support for families of Romanian citizens belonging to Roma minority

Representatives of the Labour Ministry and of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a French delegation accompanied by the French Ambassador in Romania, E.S. Philippe Gustin, on Wednesday discussed at the MAI headquarters about the support to be granted to the families of Romanian citizens belonging to the Roma minority. ‘During the meeting, the two sides focused on the current stage of implementation of the Framework Agreement concluded between the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the French Office for Immigration and Integration,’ according to a MAI release. Moreover, discussions focused also on the modality of implementation of an experimental project addressing a target group of 80 families of Romanian citizens belonging to the Roma minority, from the Alba, Bihor, Dolj, Mehedinti and Timis counties, who want to return from France to resettle in Romania. “They are going to benefit from a reintegration aid, based on a new social and economic reintegration scheme,” MAI stated.
