A Code Yellow weather forecast of snow and blizzard was announced on Friday by the National Forecaster (ANM) as of Saturday morning, in the mountain areas of 14 counties of eastern, southern and central-western areas, alongside an information for rain, snow and wind in the rest of the country starting Friday evening.
The water amounts from the rain will cumulate 15 – 20 l/sqm, with 25 – 30 l/sqm on isolated small areas. Here and there, on the hills and mountains the rain will turn into sleet and snow, in isolated regions the soil getting covered in glazed frost.
Snow will be predominant in northeastern Moldavia, with temporary strong wind, shattering the snow. Intensifications of the wind will be felt in the rest of Moldavia, in Dobrogea and the Baragan, with 50 – 55 km/h speed, whilst on the mountain peaks, in particular, as well as at the Black Sea coast, the wind speed will reach 60 – 70 km/h.
The 14 counties covered by the bad weather’s Code Yellow are as follows: Suceava, Neamt, Bacau, western Vrancea, Covasna, Harghita, most of Brasov, the south of Dambovita, Arges, Valcea and Gorj, and the northern part of Hunedoara, Alba and Sibiu.
