Special weekend, with good music at two important festivals

The Summer Well Festival, held Saturday and Sunday, and the Szeget Festival – two events dedicated to the fans of good music, and perfect opportunities for a great weekend

This year’s edition of the Summer Well Festival will be held on August 11 and 12, and aims at representing an important landmark in the calendar of musical events of 2012. Once again, the festival will be organised on the Stirbey Estate of Buftea. This is the second edition of a festival which, last year, enjoyed the presence of important bands like Interpol, Plan B, Noisettes, The Wombats, Mystery Jets or The Raveonettes.
This year, Summer Well will keep its structure of last year: 10 bands will perform on the main stage of the festival. Saturday, the show will open with Citizens! At 5:15 PM, followed by Wolf Gang at 6:30 PM, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour at 7:45 PM,  Patrick Wolf at 9:15 PM and Hurts starting with 10:15 PM.
Sunday’s programme features Zulu Winter (5:15 PM), The Big Pink (6:30 PM), Glasvegas (7:45 PM), The Vaccines (9:15 PM) and The Stone Roses (10:15 PM).
Except for Danish band The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, all other bands come from the United Kingdom and play indie-rock, alternative rock or electro-rock.
A pass for the entire duration of the festival costs RON 129 and can be bought online at easytickets.ro and eventim.ro, or in the Orange stores. There are no day tickets.
The Killers, at Szeget
Rock fans that will attend the Szeget festival will rejoice, Sunday, with a concert of famous American band The Killers, with the Romanians of Grimus in the opening – a local band whose presence has been confirmed at Sziget and at the ‘Rock For People’ Festival of the Czech Republic. At Szeget, Grimus will perform on the same stage with veteran David Bowie, Radiohead, Pulp, Judas Priest or Slayer. Considered as one of Romania’s best alternative rock bands, Grimus had the privilege of performing in Serbia, Poland and the United Kingdom, where they produced and mixed their latest album named ‘Egretta’ (a CD mastered at Sterling Sound of New York), which is globally available via the iTunes gallery and the Amazon virtual store. The Szeget Festival started on August 5 and will last until this Sunday. The line-up includes well-known bands and musicians like Dj Rasta, Ministri, The Black Seeds, The Stone Roses, The Vaccines, Wild Beasts, Fat Cat Band, Joint Ventura, Noah & The Whale, The Horrors, The Jimi Hendrix Memorial Band, Goran Bregovic Wedding And Funeral Band and, of course, The Killers.
