“Spy microphone”-selling group dismantled
Prosecutors at the Organized Crime and Anti-Terrorism Directorate (DIICOT) dismantled a criminal ring whose members are suspected of unauthorized possession and sale of ‘spy microphone” devices and “spy” software programs used for recording conversations. Once installed in the target mobile phones, the program allows unauthorized access from a specially configured GSM terminal to the monitor mobile phone,” according to the DIICOT press release. On February 14, DIICOT Pitesti prosecutors and Pitesti judicial police officers raided nine homes in Bucharest, Ploiesti, Iasi and Braila.
