Survey: Romanians believe the country is heading in the wrong direction


According to data released Wednesday by the Romanian Assessment and Strategy Institute (IRES) as part of a sociological study, 74 percent of respondents believe things are heading in the wrong direction in Romania and only 20 percent believe the direction is right. According to the IRES survey, 40 percent believe Romania is completely unsafe where job security is concerned, whereas 34 percent have the same opinion of making a decent living. Only 8 percent of respondents think Romania is safe where job security is concerned and 6 percent have the same opinion of making a decent living. 58 percent of Romanians believe Romania is safe where the right to choose is concerned, while 37 percent think the same about freedom of speech. The IRES survey was conducted between March 3 and 4 on a probabilistic, multi-layered sample of 1,657 persons with a maximum allowed error of 2.5 percent.
