Symphonies on concrete in Bucharest historic center

This week (July 7 to 13), the classical instrumental music comes out of the concert halls on the streets to get closer to the public during the event “Symphonies on concrete.” In Bucharest’s historic centre, at the crossroads of Lipscani and Smardan streets, short concerts of opera and classical instrumental music will be organized, accompanied by animation or scenographic moments tuned to the plays, each evening between 6 pm and 8 pm. The event is organized by Bucharest Mayoralty through the Centre of Creation, Art and Tradition of Bucharest in partnership with the Association for Urban Culture and Environment. The project “Symphonies on Concrete” aims to be a unique and efficient way to promote classical music and Romanian artists among the general public. A few minutes prior to the representations, amateur actors dressed in thematic costumes according to the repertoire will come on stage and will invite the passers-by to watch the artistic performance.
