The Romanian airline TAROM cut its losses by 44 percent in 2013, on a 2012 basis; the losses were RON 100 million below the previous year level, and 30 percent (RON 56 million) below the approved budget for 2013. The net balance of TAROM in 2013 was RON 130.168 million, down from RON 230.618 million in 2012. A company release on Monday states a 2013 balance 9 percent above the estimate of the management plan estimate, which was RON 143 million in the red. Total income in 2013 was RON 1.274 billion, up RON 7.187 million, and the net turnover was RON 36.871 million (3 percent) up, to RON 1.085 billion. TAROM has cut its total expenditure by 6 percent in 2013; the figure was RON 93.262 million down from the RON 1,497 billion figure of 2013.
