Tarom has appointed a new Board of Directors that includes Tarom CEO Christian Heinzmann, Bucharest Airports Company’s Public Relations Director Valentin Iordache and former Head of AM POST Marcel Bolos.
The other directors are Dan Aurel Machita, Dragos Andrei, Tiberiu Ticlea and Radu Francis Florescu.
Transport Minister Ioan Rus stated on March 10 that Tarom is the ministry’s only subordinate company that has significant problems and that he is ready to “desperately” look for people capable of implementing a restructuring program.
At the end of November the Transport Ministry stated that Tarom registered positive results in 2014 but did not benefit from “the most fortunate” management, some of its trade unions are “at loggerheads” and the company will have to be restructured.
The state-owned airline company closed last year with losses of RON 119 M, down by 8 per cent year-on-year, and for 2015 it estimates a negative result of RON 8 M, according to the information sent by the Transport Ministry to ‘ZF’ daily.
