Terran inaugurates its first factory in Romania, following an investment of EUR 5 million

The Terran Company, one of the main actors on the roof covering systems market in the Eastern Europe, inaugurated a concrete tile factory in Campia Turzii, Cluj County, following an investment of EUR 5 million.

The factory in Campia Turzii is the fourth production unit owned by Terran, along with those in Hungary and Slovakia.

The first Terran factory in Romania, built on a land from within the former factory Industria Sarmei Campia Turzii, is fully automatized and uses the latest manufacturing technologies. The concrete tile patterns made here are dedicated to the domestic market, in the first stage.

Having an area of approx. 2,500 square meters and a storage platform of 1.5 hectares, the factory can produce 70 tiles/minute, with an annual capacity of 10 million tiles.

The production unit has a closed technological process, through which the environmentally-friendly raw materials are reused after a recycling process.

“We are in Romania since 2005, and the very good sales registered, as well as the size of the market from here, have been decisive factors for building a factory in Romania. We started to invest in 2016, by purchasing the land, and the production tests started this spring. Next year, we will continue to invest in order to expand the production capacity for two more ranges. This investment is a very serious argument for the Terran customers in Romania, who made a good choice, and the 50-year warranty for the tiles is a written, assumed and verified warranty” stated Godi Attila, the Terran General Manager.

Terran entered the Romanian market in 2005 and it sells concrete tiles, respectively all the necessary accessories for the roof covering system.
