The Korean Movie Night in Bucharest 2016 will take place on June 8-9 at the Romanian Museum Cinema – Horia Bernea Studio in Bucharest. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bucharest and the Romanian Peasant Museum are organizing the first edition of the event this year, which will present the two widely acclaimed Korean movies entitled “Right Now, Wrong Then” and “The Fatal Encounter (King’s Wrath)”–(photo) starting at 7:00 pm, on June 8 and June 9 respectively.
The first film, “Right Now, Wrong Then”, being directed by Hong Sang-Soo, one of the most well-known Korean directors in the international film world, has won the top prize Golden Leopard and Best Actor at the 2015 Locarno International Film Festival and had also its premiere in Romania this year at Transilvania International Film Festival 2016 (TIFF 16) in Cluj-Napoca.
The second movie to be screened, “The Fatal Encounter (King’s Wrath)” has won the Best Art Design Awards at Daejong Film Awards in 2014 for its mix of splendid action sequences and scenes evoking delicate and sensitive emotions depicting the breath-taking 24 hours concealed in the history of Chosun Dynasty surrounding the assassination attempt on King Jeongjo in 1777.
The welcoming reception will be held inside the Romanian Peasant Museum at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 8. Admission is free, but please note that you can reserve your seat together with popcorn & soft drink if you send an email to email@example.com.
