The net average monthly wage increased 0.3 pct this June compared with the previous month, reaching 1,687 lei, while the sector to see the highest net average monthly earnings was crude oil and natural gas extraction, with 4,707 lei, show data released this Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INS). According to the cited source, the gross nominal average earning in June was 2,334 lei, by 0.3 percent higher compared to May, while the real wage index, expressed as the ratio of the nominal net wage index to the net consumer price index, was 100.6 percent. The highest net nominal average wage was registered in the extraction of crude and natural gas (4,707 lei), while the lowest earnings were in the HoReCa sector (981 lei). The net average wage was higher than the month before in most economic sectors, as an effect of the occasional bonuses granted from net profits, amounts collected from other funds (including meal and gift vouchers), but also of production achievements or higher revenues (from contracts)
