Titus Corlatean Shimon Peres meeting


Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Titus Corlatean spoke to Israel’s President Shimon Peres on Thursday, at the end of a three-day official visit to the State of Israel, the ministry announced.
Corlatean and Peres highlighted the significant role incumbent upon the Romanian-based Jewish community and the Romanian-born Israeli community in strengthening the relations between the two countries.

During their discussion, the two officials appreciated the very good level of the Romanian-Israeli political and diplomatic dialogue. Moreover, they reiterated the determination of the two sides to boost the bilateral relations in multiple fields, in the format of joint meetings of the Romanian and the Israeli Cabinet, planning to have the next round in Bucharest in 2014.
Minister Titus Corltaean and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed about the opportunities to develop and deepen the sectorial cooperation, with the two sides to grant priority to the fields of investment, research and development, and to high-tech areas. In that context, the Israeli side expressed its interest in the Romanian offer to participate in the ELI project – the Extreme Light Infrastructure..
