The road tolls on Bucharest-Pitesti (A1) and Bucharest-Constanta (A2) motorways might be adopted as of 2015, at the beginning of the restoration works, or the following year, after they are concluded, said general director of the National Company of Motorways and Roads Narcis Neaga on Wednesday at the ZF conference Construction & Infrastructure Summit ’14. On the other hand, the general director of the company said that, according to him, no motorway in Romania can be funded only through taxes, considering the traffic figures. He also announced that, as regards the cession contract for Comarnic-Brasov motorway construction, it will be signed in June and the works will start the week to come, as the funding for the project is “mostly” established. Within the same event, investment manager with Metrorex Catalin Homor said the stretch Eroilor-Drumul Taberei of underground train line 5 will be concluded in the second half of 2016 and the deadline for the entire project is 2020, as financing is provided from both European and governmental funds.
