Turnover for car trade up 13.5pct in H1

Turnover for car and motorcycle trade has recorded a growth by 13.5 per cent, and by 14.7 per cent, respectively, in the first half of 2017, compared to the same interval last year, both as gross series and as series adjusted depending on the number of working days and seasonality, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Friday.

In the same time span, turnover for market services provided to the population increased by 11 per cent as gross series and by 9.9 per cent, as adjusted series depending on the number of working days and seasonality.

According to the INS, turnover for wholesale and retail, maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycle went up 2.8 per cent as gross series in June 2017 compared to the previous month, due to growth recorded in car trade (+5 per cent) and maintenance and repair of cars sector (+3.9 per cent). Drops were recorded in the motorcycle trade, spare parts and related accessories, maintenance and repair of motorcycles (-2.2 per cent) and trade of spare parts and accessories for cars (-1.8 per cent).

Turnover volume for wholesale and retail, maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycles, adjusted series depending on the number of working days and seasonality, climbed 0.9 per cent in June 2017 against the previous month.

In what market services provided to the population, gross series, are concerned, they recorded an increase in turnover by 5.6 per cent in June 2017 compared to May 2017, due to growth recorded in the HoReCa sector (+9.8 per cent), tourism operator’s activity (+9.6 per cent) and in the sector of laundry, washing and colouring of textiles and fur (+0.8 per cent). Drops were recorded in the gambling and other leisure activities sector (-5.2 per cent) and in hairdressing and beauty treatments industry (-0.4 per cent).

Turnover for markets services provided to the population, adjusted series depending on the number of working days and seasonality, dropped 0.7 per cent in June compared to the previous month.

The INS data showed that turnover for retail, maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycles, gross series, recorded a growth by 9.9 per cent in June 2017 against June 2016.

Turnover for wholesale and retail, maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycles, adjusted series depending on the number of working days and seasonality grew 12 per cent in June 2017 compared to June 2016.

Market services provided to the population, gross series, recorded 14.1 per cent in turnover in June 2017 compared to June 2016.

Turnover for wholesale and retail, maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycles, gross series, increased 13.5 per cent over January 1 – June 30 2017, compared to the same interval in 2016.

Market services provided to the population recorded a turnover by 11 per cent higher over January 1- June 30 2017, compared to the same period in 2016.

Market services provided to the population, adjusted series depending on the number of working days and seasonality increased 9.9 per cent over January 1 – June 30 2017 against the same interval last year.
