*US Embassy congratulates new Gov’t: We expect to collaborate with PM Grindeanu to develop Strategic Partnership
The Embassy of the United States of America congratulates Romania’s new Government and new Parliament and expects to collaborate with Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu and his Cabinet to develop the Strategic Partnership, the goal of which is to increase common security, enhance the mutual prosperity of Romania and the U.S. and consolidate democratic institutions, reads a release of the diplomatic mission on Wednesday.
The Partnership between the two states is based on the commitment to good governance and the consolidation of the rule of law, the release adds, pointing out that the U.S. firmly supports President Klaus Iohannis’s and the judicial and law enforcement institutions’ efforts in these respects.
The U.S. Embassy in Bucharest underscores the importance of the fight against corruption in Romania and urges collaboration.
We urge all representatives of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of Romania to collaborate to continue the country’s fight against corruption and to ensure the credibility of Romania’s leadership and institutions, the release also reads.
Juncker and Tusk congratulate Grindeanu for his appointment as Romania’s PM: “We expect the continuation of the positive trend regarding stable government in Romania”
Prior to this, last week two important European leaders – European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President Donald Tusk – congratulated Premier Grindeanu for his appointment in office.
In a message posted on his Twitter account, Jean-Claude Juncker talks about the continuation of the positive trend in Romania regarding a stable government, robust economic growth, increased productivity, rising living standards and an independent justice system that can sustain the fight against corruption.
“This is a momentous time for Romania and the European union. We look forward to the continuation of the positive trend in Romania regarding a stable government, robust economic growth, increased productivity, rising living standards and an independent justice system that can sustain the fight against corruption,” reads Juncker’s message.
“At a time when we are faced with many challenges, the continued responsible and constructive contribution of Romania to finding common European solutions and keeping European unity will remain essential for the prosperity and security of our citizens,” Donald Tusk pointed out, according to a press release posted on the European Council website.
