Prior to this, last week two important European leaders – European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President Donald Tusk – congratulated Premier Grindeanu for his appointment in office.

In a message posted on his Twitter account, Jean-Claude Juncker talks about the continuation of the positive trend in Romania regarding a stable government, robust economic growth, increased productivity, rising living standards and an independent justice system that can sustain the fight against corruption.

“This is a momentous time for Romania and the European union. We look forward to the continuation of the positive trend in Romania regarding a stable government, robust economic growth, increased productivity, rising living standards and an independent justice system that can sustain the fight against corruption,” reads Juncker’s message.

“At a time when we are faced with many challenges, the continued responsible and constructive contribution of Romania to finding common European solutions and keeping European unity will remain essential for the prosperity and security of our citizens,” Donald Tusk pointed out, according to a press release posted on the European Council website.
