United Kingdom’s Prince Edward and his wife Countess Sophie will pay an official visit to Romania on June 24-26, a visit occasioned by the anniversary of 75 years since the opening of the British Council in Romania, the United Kingdom Embassy in Bucharest announced yesterday. “This occasion marks the first official visit of Their Royal Highnesses to Romania,” the embassy’s communiqué reads, being quoted by Mediafax.Prince Edward’s and Countess Sophie’s agenda is not yet final and will be announced at the appropriate time, close to the moment the actual visit takes place, the aforementioned source pointed out.
Prince Edward is the brother of Prince Charles. Edward, who is Count of Wessex, is the third son of Queen Elisabeth II, being currently seventh in line to the throne. Prince Charles comes frequently to Romania, conducting private visits in Transylvania where he owns several properties.
