US Assistant Secretary Victoria Nuland in Romania January 10-11

On January 7, US Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland has started visits to The Hague, Netherlands, where she will meet with senior Dutch government officials to discuss bilateral and other foreign policy issues, including planning for the Nuclear Security Summit, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, and U.S.-Dutch collaboration on European and global issues, the US Department of State informs.
Assistant Secretary Nuland will then travel to Berlin, Germany, on January. On January 9, Assistant Secretary Nuland will travel to Vilnius, Lithuania.
In Bucharest, Romania, from January 10-11, Assistant Secretary Nuland will meet with senior Romanian government officials and members of civil society to discuss bilateral and regional issues, including efforts to strengthen the rule of law. Official sources quoted by Mediafax say Nuland is to meet President Traian Basescu and Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean.
