US military aircraft makes emergency landing at Constanta

A US military airplane with 15 people on board requested authorisation for an emergency landing on the Mihail Kogalniceanu Airport of Constanta yesterday afternoon, because of a cracked windshield that could have resulted in depressurisation. According to a communiqué issued by the Ministry of Transportation and quoted by Mediafax, the aircraft is a C 17 Galaxy, whose pilots announced the air traffic controllers of Romatsa that they had a cracked windshield. First they requested an emergency drop of altitude to 3,300 metres and then asked to land on Mihail Kogalniceanu. The aircraft had taken off from Jordan, having as destination the military base of Rammstein (Germany).
