Former Economy Minister Varujan Vosganian has announced on his blog who will take over his office after he resigned from the position of minister, writing: “The winner is… Remus Vulpescu!!! If you know the character, the comments are all yours…”
According to Digi 24, Remus Vulpescu did not hesitate to post a reply on his Facebook page. “Varujan calm down. I didn’t occupy “your” office of Economy Minister, I am not your contender for the Nobel and I am not selling copper these days,” he wrote. According to the aforementioned source, Remus Vulescu’s post disappeared shortly thereafter. Remus Vulpescu is currently the head of Deputy Prime Minister Daniel Chitoiu’s cabinet. Chitoiu is interim Economy Minister after Varujan Vosganian resigned. Vulpescu is also part of Hidroelectrica’s Supervisory Council. Remus Vulpescu is former head of the Office of State Participations and Privatization in Industry (OPSPI), an office from which he resigned one year ago following the failure of Oltchim’s privatization, a privatization process whose winner was Dan Diaconescu. Varujan Vosgnian announced his resignation last Monday. The resignation was filed shortly after the Senate rejected the Supreme Court’s Prosecutor’s Office’s request for the authorization to start the prosecution against Vosganian. Vosganian continues to be a Senator and his resignation from the office of minister has no impact on the request rejected by the Senate.
