Romania is taking part in the 2011 edition of the European Wrestling Championships in Dortmund (March 29 – April 3) with a team of 21 wrestlers. Over 490 wrestlers from 43 nations are taking part in the competition, Agerpres informs. Romania will have 7 representatives in each of the 3 styles: freestyle wrestling, roman wrestling and female wrestling. Romania’s goal, as set by its Wrestling Federation, is to win 3 medals. At the Wrestling EC 2010 Romania won a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling (Stefan Gheorghita), a silver medal in roman wrestling (Ion Panait), a silver medal (Estera Dobre) and a bronze medal (Ana Maria Paval) in female wrestling.
