Tanczos Barna, the president of the Romanian Ice Hockey Federation (FRHG), has stated on Thursday for Mediafax that no HC Csikszereda player answered the call-up for the national team’s World Cup campaign.
Tanczos Barna claims that Janos Kurko, the owner of HC Csikszereda, raised absurd conditions for allowing the players to go to the national team. ‘Mr. Kurko used a foul tactic and thought that he will succeed by blackmailing us. But he was wrong because the Romanian Ice Hockey Federation would never accept such a manner of talking. Kurko raised absurd conditions: the signing of NHL-like insurances that would take into account the players’ market value, the Federation to pay the players’ wages while they are playing for the national team. Moreover, the value of the players was set by Mr. Kurko’ the Federation official pointed out.
