Petrom (SNP) put into service a new hydrofining installation for the production of low sulphur petrol, with an annual output of over 700,000 tons, at the Petrobrazi Refinery. The company has invested EUR 90- M, Mediafax informs. ‘It is state of the art technology used for the production of low sulphur petrol. Ever since the beginning of the year, Petrom has exclusively delivered low-sulphur petrol meeting EU quality and environmental standards’, Neil Anthony Morgan, member of the Petrom Board in charge of refining activities, states in a statement sent to the Bucharest Stock exchange. The petrol hydrofining installation at Petrobrazi the construction of which began in 2008, contributes to the provision of the Euro 5 petrol needed on the local and foreign markets. Apart from Petrobrazi, Petrom also owns the Arpechim refinery, which means that the producer’s yearly capacity is 8 M tons, standing for approximately 40 per cent of the total Romanian crude oil refining capacity.
