UPC and Zapp cut tariffs

UPC Romania has launched yesterday a 50 per cent price cut for the subscribers to its Internet services. The offer is set to last for half a year, is available only until May 31 and is addressed only to the subscribers to its TV services. According to a press communiqué, the price cuts go as high as 70 per cent for the most expensive Internet subscription.

For example, in the case of the Large package, the client would pay RON 30 per month for half a year and RON 60 for the remaining half, for a total cost of RON 540 per year.

Also on Wednesday Zapp announced price cuts of up to 80 per cent in the price of international calls. The price cuts are available for both existing and new subscribers until April 27. Zapp points out that ‘this is the best offer for international calls from among all mobile phone operators.’

According to Zapp’s new offer, the tariffs for international phone calls have been cut by up to 80 per cent for phone call destinations such as: Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden etc. in the case of phone calls to landlines, and China, Singapore etc. for phone calls to mobile phones.

‘The tariffs for phone calls to landlines in Britain, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Germany, France etc. and those to landlines and mobile phones in the US, Canada and China start off from 2.5 cents per minute, being 75 per cent cheaper’ Zapp stated.
