Prince Radu’s presidential candidacy endorsed by King Mihai

King Mihai will state his opinion about Prince Radu Duda’s joining the presidential electoral race today, the latter announced during a TV programme, ‘Gardianul’ daily informs. According to the Prince, King Mihai has nothing against his candidacy for president. As for the fact that the king had not adopted an official position in his son-in-law’s move yet, Prince Radu gave two reasons that showing ‘two fundamental attributes of the man of state that King Mihai is: ‘The first: he did not wish to eclipse the announcement about my candidacy. It was a gesture of great generosity you will never find in the political arena. The second point: he wanted to show respect during the Holy Week. His message will come on St. George’s Day,’ said the prince. At the beginning of the week, in Iasi, Prince Radu stressed the importance of the monarchy in Romanian history during a visit the Royal House made to the ‘Mihai Eminescu’ Central University Library sharing the building with the ‘Ferdinand I’ Cultural Foundation.
