Mircea Sandu denies involvement in the selection of the new coach

The President of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) issued a press release denying rumours that he had already selected the next coach of the national team, as stated by a central newspaper, and reminds that the proposal to be voted by the Executive Committee will be made only by the General Manager, Ionut Lupescu.

The coach of FC Brasov, Razvan Lucescu, is Mircea Sandu’s option for the position of coach, according to the Thursday edition of a central newspaper. “The only person endorsed to negotiate the employment of the new coach of our national team is the General Manager of FRF, Mr. Ioan Angelo Lupescu. He will submit a proposal (or maybe more) to the Executive Committee of FRF, the forum that bears the responsibility of this decision. Other statements published by the press are mere speculation,” the press release issued by FRF shows.
