Phone conversations by 30 football officials, monitored

According to a document received by the President of Pandurii, Marin Condescu, from the National Anti-Corruption Department, the phones of 15 football personalities were bugged and they were constantly monitored during March – June 2007, ‘Cotidianul’ informs. Marin Condescu mentioned having been informed on the monitoring of the telephones from the document sent to the football club Pandurii by the Head Prosecutor Mariana Alexandrescu, who examined the files of several football personalities, including Mariana Alexandrescu, who had examined the files of several football personalities, including Adrian Porumboiu, Mircea Rednic, Constantin Iacov, Constantin Zotta, Cornel Dinu, Jean Padureanu, Iuliu Muresan, Cornel Penescu, Gheorghe Stefan, Nicolae Bara, Adrian Mititelu, Nicolae Badea and many others. “We were informed that the mentioned personalities have promised or given undeserved benefits to players who also have the quality of civil servants, or have received amounts of over EUR 10,000 in order to intervene and to influence the results of League I football games during the 2006–2007 Championship,” the document received by Condescu shows.
