Andrei Serban won excellence award in the US

The theatre director Andrei Serban won the “Robert Brustein” Excellence Award at the Annual Gala of the American Repertory Theatre (ART), hosted by the Zero Arrow Theatre in Boston, EVZ announces. According to the Romanian Cultural Institute of New York, the excellence award also went to actor Jeremy Geit. Among the guests of the ceremony, there was also the actress Diane Lane who made her theatre debut in “Medeea,” directed by Andrei Serban at the famous LaMaMa Theatre in New York. The American Repertory Theatre is the only nonprofit professional theatre in the US, with its own company of actors and an institute of international training. Andrei Serban has collaborated with ART since 1981, and has worked on the productions “Three Sisters,” “Pericles” and “The Taming of the Shrew.”
