Corpodean, Savaniu and Marcel Lica heard by Pitesti Court of Appeal

Referees Sorin Corpodean and Marcel Savaniu and former Vice President of the Central Commission of Referees (CCA) Marcel Lica, have been heard on Tuesday by the magistrates of the Pitesti Court of Appeal, all of them pleading innocent. Towards the end of the proceedings Marcel Lica burst into tears in front of the judges, the latter asking him to finish his pleading. Marcel Lica is charged by the DNA Pitesti prosecutors for asking USD 3,000 in return for compiling a favourable observation report for the FC Arges vs. Otelul Galati game played on November 23, 2008 in Pitesti. Liviu Facaleata allegedly paid him USD 2,000. Referees Sorin Corpodean and Marcel Savaniu and the former Vice President of the CCA Marcel Lica took part in the hearings at noon. The hearings have been occasioned by the appeals that their lawyers had filed.
