The European Union asked Chisinau authorities to cancel the visa regime for Romanian citizens, Antena 3 reported. The EU representative to the R. of Moldova, Kalman Mizsei said the allegations leveled by President Vladimir Voronin against Romania could not be supported with evidence. Following April 7 violent anti-communist riots in Chisinau, Voronin accused Romania of staging the unrest, a charge Bucharest denied. Mizsei also proposed that the four parties that are part of the Moldovan parliament set up a commission to run investigations into the April events.
