The sales of Opel cars in Romania rose 25.1 per cent in March, against the previous month, with company executives believing the ‘Junk car’ programme played a significant part in it, Agerpres reports. According to an official statement by General Motors for South-East Europe, the best sold model was Astra Classic, which accounted for 705 of all the Opel cars sold. Sales of Insignia, which tops the upper end of the scale, were up 7 per cent from February, when sales stood at 5.9 per cent. When launched on the Romanian market, in the second half of February, it sold 120 units, the rise in sales on the European market also being noted on this market. European-wide, the German automaker became market leader in the medium class, with over 100,000 orders posted for Insignia, the highest-end of the model scale, the statement by general Motors for South-East Europe states.
For this summer, Opel announces the launch of the Insignia Sports Tourer station wagon. The Corsa ecoFlex 1.3 CDTI one million unit left the assembly line of the Zaragoza plant, one of the largest and most environmental-friendly car-manufacturing locations in Europe, Agerpress quoted the General Motors for South-East Europe press release as saying.
