Salaries and pensions – on the edge of not being paid at the end of April

At the end of April, Government experienced the real danger of not being able to pay salaries and pensions, but this was overcome, efforts being made for the funds to be secured from the budget, according to PM Emil Boc.

An inquiry by Realitatea TV shows there was a real danger for pensions and salaries not to be paid, Boc said that such a moment was not a distant one, it occurred at the end of April.

“We were not far from this. We overcome the moment, that peak, I hope there will not be another. But we made efforts, we reached a balance, we paid salaries and pensions in time, with the money we have in the budget, in line with the budgetary provisions,” Boc said.

President Traian Basescu said, at the end of April, that the money from the foreign loan to be made available to the government could be used, in exceptional circumstances, depending on the evolution of the economic crisis, for small salaries and pensions.
