Handball: Steaua won Romanian Cup for the third year in a row

Steaua MFA won the 2009 edition of the Romanian Handball Cup after defeating the team UCM Resita on Sunday, in the final of the competition that took place in Sibiu, by 29–27 (15–15). Steaua had qualified for the final of the competition, after defeating the Champion HCM Constanta in the semi-finals, while its adversary UCM Resita had eliminated Dinamo. Steaua won the Romanian Cup for the third subsequent year and for the ninth time in its history, becoming the team that gained the highest number of trophies.
