Coach Marius Lacatus resigned on Sunday from his position as lead coach of the team Steaua, a press release published on the official website of the club Steaua announced.
“Coach Marius Lacatus resigned on Sunday, May 17, from his position at the football club Steaua in Bucharest. He decided to leave our club after a discussion with the management,” the press release that appeared on the website of the club announced.
Lacatus explained his decision to quit this position, mentioning in the same press release that it is the best thing to do both for him and for the team. “I thank all of those who helped and supported our team and we are sorry we failed to deliver them the satisfactions they deserved, so that we would have achieved a position in the UEFA Champions League by the end of the season. I attended a discussion with the management of the club and I decided it was best for all of us if I left the team.”
The interim lead coach of Steaua will be the Italian Massimo Pedrazzini.
The owner of the team Steaua, Gigi Becali declared after attending the training of the players on Monday that he would decide which players he would use for the forthcoming games of his team, and the interim coach Massimo Pedrazzini would only lead the training sessions.
