Adrian Nastase and Miron Mitrea reacted to the declarations made by the German Deputy Guenther Krichbaum, made on Thursday in Bucharest.
Krichbaum, head of the EU Policy Commission within Bundestag, said that there are “several Adrian Nastase” in Romania, namely politicians suspected by corruption, the example provided being Miron Mitrea and Serban Mihailescu. In reply, Adrian Nastase accused, on his blog, the German Deputy, of campaigning for Traian Basescu. “The electoral campaign started! Traian Basescu and his friends from People’s Party, realizing that things are not easy, call for help from abroad. Perhaps Krichbaum came here to read by texts written in Cotroceni, prior to all lying charges instrumented by Basescu’s prosecutors leave from Parliament (…) I wonder why Krichbaum does not ask his friend Basescu to renounce immunity to enable trial on Fleet file?”, Nastase writes on his blog.
In his turn, Miron Mitrea, in a letter posted in English also on the blog, accuses the German Deputy of lack of fair play and he asks him to publicly rectify the charges pressed.
“(…) I cannot be indifferent to the fact that being a person knowing Romania you launch accusations that harm not only me but especially my country. I conclude the letter hoping you will appropriately rectify publicly,” Mitrea writes.
