Romanian offered medal in Madrid

A young Romanian man was stabbed while attempting to stop three burglars that had robbed a store in Madrid and might be rewarded with a medal by the Spanish authorities, Think Spain reported, as quoted by Mediafax.

The Romanian, aged 23, saw three masked persons entering a perfume store near the bar he was working at in Madrid.

He ran and managed to catch one of the burglars, taking the safe the latter has stolen from the perfume store, but was stabbed in the chest by the other two.

The doctor Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, who provides medical treatment to the young Romanian, declared that his patient’s wounds were superficial and fast recovery is expected.

Afterwards, two Spaniards and a Ukrainian were arrested in this case.

The regional Immigration Minister Javier Fernandez Lasquetti paid a visit on Friday to the young patient in the hospital and declared that all Romanians living in Madrid may be proud of their fellow countryman’s brave behaviour.
