Actor Nicu Constantin is currently hospitalized at the Intensive ward Clinic of the Emergency Military Hospital in Bucharest, due to severe lung issues and other associated diseases, General Dr. Ioan Sarbu told Mediafax. “Doctors are doing all they can in order to improve his health condition. His condition is critical and required hospitalization at Intensive Therapy ward,” Sarbu said. The actor was hospitalized on May 11 and since that date, he was under strict medical surveillance, but no sign of improvement was noticeable. Nicu Constantin was born on July 31, 1939, at Eforie Sud, in Constanta County.
He became a star of the “Constantin Tanase” Satirical Theatre in Bucharest during 1960 – 2000, where he had appeared in over 9,000 performances. During 1979 and 1982, he was also an actor of the National Operetta Theatre. He attended over 600 radio shows and over 300 television shows. He presented his lifetime experience in his autobiography “The Magic Glasses.” He was granted the I Class Cultural Order and became a honorary citizen of the city Eforie in 2001.
