Viktor Yushchenko, the President of Ukraine, has decorated Mircea Lucescu, the Romanian head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk, with the Order of Merit Second Class for winning the UEFA Cup, the official website of the Ukrainian football club informs.
Romanian fullback Razvan Rat received the For Bravery medal, Third Class.
Alexandru Spiridon, the assistant coach of Shakhtar Donetsk, was awarded the Medal for Work and Victory. Romania’s Marian Ionita received the Order of Merit Third Class, along with Carlo Nicolini, both of them being in charge with training Shakhtar’s goalkeepers. Romanian masseur Victor Hexan was awarded the Medal for Work and Victory.

The following players were awarded the For Bravery medal, Third Class: Willian, Oleksi Gai, Oleksandr Gladki, Igor Duljaj, Ilsinho, Mikola Iscenko, Oleksandr Kucer, Mariusz Lewandowski, Luiz Adriano, Jadson, Ieven Seleznov, Darijo Srna, Fernandinho, Rustam Kudjamov, Tomas Hubschman and Viaceslav Sevciuk. Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk has won the UEFA Cup after defeating Germany’s Werder Bremen on May 20 in the final played in Istanbul. The final score of the game was 2-1 (1-1, 1-1) for Shakhtar.
