Government changes European elections law

The Government changed on Wednesday, by Emergency ordinance, the European elections law and established that one may vote at any voting station, yet the identity of the persons who will vote on additional lists, at two sections, will be checked and discovered at once, in their home localities, in order to prevent electoral fraud at the elections of June 7.The information was confirmed in a press conference by Premier Emil Boc. He also explained that there was the risk of electoral tourism, and that a few persons might vote at several voting stations, including the compulsoriness of the checking of electoral lists by the Permanent Electoral Authority by a specialized software, that will immediately identify the persons who vote at two voting sections. This offence will be sanctioned with imprisonment.
