Unit 1 Cernavoda could be restarted tomorrow

The experts of Nuclearelectrica are working on restarting the damaged water pipe, at Unit 1 of Cernavoda Nuclear electric plant, and they estimate that the reactor may start on Tuesday. “Following the inspection after Unit 1 was put on hold, we found out the existence of a hole on the impulse pipe in the instrumentation system of the primary circuit. The remedy works are in progress, and so are the routine checks on the basis of the plant’s procedures for such situations. We estimate that the Unit 1 restarting will be on June 2,” a press release from Nuclearelectrica informs. The company put on hold, this Saturday, Unit 1 of Cernavoda plant, after having found a crack in a water pipe. The board of Nuclearelectrica informed initially that the reactor would be put on hold on two to seven days. Nuclearelectrica informed that they would buy energy on OPCOM stock exchange, for them to meet their contract obligations. The National Energy Dispatch, reporting to Transelectrica, decided to make operational an energy group at Turceni Energy Plant, after Unit 1 of the nuclear plant was put on hold.
