Expatriate, opening act for Placebo gig

Placebo show, due to take place at the Romexpo Exhibition Centre of June 21 will feature the Australian band Expatriate as opening act. The band made its breakthrough since their debut, once they launched the album “In the Midst of This,” the organizers of the show, One Event, announced.

The album was warmly acclaimed by music critics, and the band was nominated at two categories: “Best New Band” and “Best New Album” at the ARIA Awards (the Australian equivalent of the BRIT Awards). The tickets for the area in front of the stage at the Placebo show in Bucharest, scheduled for June 21, are almost sold-out. The last 300 tickets in the A Pitch area may only be purchased at Diverta stores, at the Muzica shop and online, on www.myticket.ro, and no additional tickets will be issued. In the first ten days since the tickets were launched on the market, half of the A Pitch tickets were already purchased, proving once again that the British band has a strong and loyal fan base in Romania. The Placebo show in Bucharest is part of the promoting tour of the band’s next album, “Battle in the Sun,” scheduled to be released by the end of next week and available in Romanian stores courtesy of MediaPro Music. The European tour kicked off at the beginning of this month and already includes concerts at Europe’s most prestigious summer festivals such as Rock am Ring – Germany, Rock Werchter – Belgium, NovaRock – Austria, Open’er – Poland, Paleo – Switzerland, Sziget – Hungary or PinkPop – Holland. The tickets for the Placebo show are available on www.myticket.ro, in the Diverta stores, in the Muzica shop, in the Carturesti bookshops and in the Control, Fabrica and Fire club.
