Costel Busuioc canceled contract with Sony

This month, Costel Busuioc started collaborating with the Recording Company PKO. The owner of the company, Jose Ramon Flores, is the music producer met by the Romanian over a year ago, during the competition show “Los hijos de Babel,” that brought him international celebrity, Adevarul announces.

“I decided to cancel the contract with Sony Music because they did little to promote me. Numerous well-known artists wanted to perform with me and sent proposals to the company, yet they were refused. My contract with Sony Music brought me more damages than achievements,’ Costel declared.

Immediately after canceling the contract with Sony Music, he joined the company PKO. “I decided to work with Jose Ramon Flores because he has a lot of experience in this field. But, first of all, I chose him because I trust him,” Costel Busuioc declared.

Last December, the tenor hired a lawyer to negotiate the cancellation of the contract with Sony Music. Busuioc was entitled to a percentage of the money resulted from the sale of his recordings and from the concerts he performed.

“Sony Music should have paid me EUR 60,000 from the sale of my album and 40,000 from the sale of my DVD. In order to cash this money, I should have continued to work with them for one more year, so that I could record another album. I think they could have done a lot more for me, but they showed no interest,” the Romanian declared.
