FC Vaslui is the best ranking Romanian team in the clubs’ world table published by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). Adrian Porumboiu’s club ranks 94th this month, scoring 115 points, in a tie with Partizan Belgrade (Serbia), Artmedia Bratislava (Slovakia) and Liga de Quito (Ecuador). Here are the ranks of the other Romanian clubs: CFR Cluj – 110th with 109.5 pts; FC Timisoara – 142nd with 94.5 pts; Steaua Bucharest – 162nd with 89.5 pts; Unirea Urziceni – 172nd with 86 pts; Dinamo Bucharest – 189th with 83.5 pts; Rapid Bucharest – 332nd with 65 pts.
The table is topped by Spain’s champion FC Barcelona, the team being in a tie (315 points) with Manchester United, the team that it defeated in the Champions League final.
Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk, the team coached by Mircea Lucescu and the winner of the last edition of the UEFA Cup, has climbed to 6th place with 245.5 points.
