Preparations for Bookfest

The fourth edition of the Bookfest Book Salon organized by the Association of Romanian Publishers (AER) takes place this year during June 17 – 21, at the Romexpo exhibition centre.

Bookfest intends to preserve the joy stirred by books in the souls of readers and to bring them opportunities to meet some of the most famous writers, to openly discuss contemporary topics and to draw readers’ attention on some of the latest releases, as well as on some of the most appreciated volumes.

At the salon, the publishing houses Curtea Veche, Humanitas, Polirom, Cartea Romaneasca or RAO, as well as other publishers, will await visitors with surprises adequate for the importance of this event.

According to AER officials, the organization of Bookfest requires expenses totalizing approximately EUR 300,000.

During the Book Salon, the Romanian Writers’ Guild will grant its annual awards.

The salon will be opened daily during 10.00 – 20.00, except for Friday, June 19, when book lovers will be granted access to Bookfest until 22.00 and for the last day of the event, Sunday, June 21, when the Salon will be closed at 18.00.

AER was founded in 1991 and is the main professional association of the Romanian book publishers.
