TIFF moves to the New Cinema of the Romanian Director

During June 10 – 18, film lovers will be granted the opportunity to watch a selection of the films broadcasted at TIFF at the New Cinema of the Romanian Director.

The selection includes films such as “North,” winner of the Transylvania Award for Best Film at TIFF 2009, or the most controversial motion picture of Cannes 2009, “Antichrist” by Lars von Trier. There will be open-air broadcasts in the inner yard. In case of unfavourable weather, the broadcasts will take place in the hall. A ticket costs RON 8.

The New Cinema of the Romanian Director – The Horia Bernea Studio is a cultural project by the Romanian Peasant’s Museum targeted on the broadcasting of European fiction films and documentary, promoting young Romanian and European directors and providing an opportunity of dialogue between creators and the Romanian audience. MTR intends to be an art cinema theatre in Bucharest, a special location for the educated viewers.
