Boc, Geoana and Barnett celebrated Queen Elisabeth’s birthday at the Athenaeum

Numerous public political personalities attended on Wednesday evening the reception occasioned by the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, hosted by the Romanian Athenaeum. The festive moment of cutting of cake included Emil Boc, Mircea Geoana and Robin Barnett among the protagonists.

The first to hold a speech was British Ambassador Robin Barnett, who started by declaring that June 10 was an excellent day to celebrate another successful year for the successful partnership of Romania and the United Kingdom. He outlined that Romania and the United Kingdom share common interests both in NATO and the EU, such as reducing the effects of the crisis, finding solutions for the conflict in Afghanistan, but also practical cooperation of the Police services and of the justice reform and environmental issues.

Premier Emil Boc started his speech with a greeting in the name of the Romanian Government. He declared that UK was, first of all, one of the most important partners of Romania in the EU and NATO. Moreover, Premier Boc outlined that UK was also an important trade partner.
