EUR 100 M by the Norwegian program of cooperation

Non-reimbursable funds totalizing EUR 98.5 M were granted to projects of priority departments such as environment, energy, health, sustainable production, the protection of the cultural patrimony and human resources, Agerpres announced.

The seventy projects were selected for the European Economic Space grants and as part of the Norwegian Cooperation Program (Norwegian grants), the Ambassador of Norway Oystein Hovdkinn announced yesterday, at a press conference. 30 bilateral projects were approved, as part of the Norwegian Program of Cooperation for Romania, financed by Norway. The program was initiated as part of the Agreement of Expansion of the European Economic Space, in order to support the economical and sustainable development and to consolidate the bilateral relations of Romania and Norway. The total value of funds was EUR 48 M. Since the program was officially launched in November 2007, and up to the moment the period of submission of the subscription requests was finalized, on December 31, 2008, 182 applications were received: 13 for funding journeys, 98 for project preparing facilities and 71 for individual projects. The deadline for the implementation of all applied projects is April 30, 2011.
